Live by the sword!
Die for the Lord!
Call down the vultures
To dine on the corpse!
"I was thinking about all the forgotten children who die before their parents, and this song is about one of those poor bastards becoming Death's apprentice. Death to me is a much more imaginative concept than God - I thought it would be interesting to think about someone training to be his apprentice and learning to reap souls.
"-Frank Carter, Gallows vocalist
Well I've been wanting to illustrate this song
since the day I heard it. Months later after a half dozen sketches I finally got it. Wanted to make the vultures more skeletal like so they'd be more symbolic and less lteral, but it that would be too Ashes of the Wake-like.
If you like hardcore punk or just hard rock in general please give the Grey Britain album a listen
, at least a few songs, it's seriously one of the best albums of 2009.
